Cindy Vener Receives Best Use of Theme Award at The Brick in Ocala

Congratulations to member artist Cindy Vener. Her painting “Night in the City” won Best Use of Theme in the “Power of the Arts” MCA’s 8th Annual “Best of the Best” Juried Art Exhibition at the Brick City Center for the Arts in Ocala, Florida.

“Night in the City is inspired by the glow and energy of downtown Ocala after dark. I used deep navy and burgundy to evoke the quiet shadows between buildings, while pockets of coral, peach, and turquoise flicker like neon signs and storefront windows.”

Exhibit runs through October 31, 2026. The exhibit is presented by The LILAC foundation.

This year’s exhibition invites MCA Artist Members to explore the many ways the arts shape our lives—from music, dance, theatre, literature, public art, architecture, and cultural traditions to the people, places, and experiences that have fueled their own creative journeys.
