Audrey‘s interest in art began at an early age with countless hours of studying the historical Masters, such as John Singer, Sergeant, Joaquin Sorolla,  Anders Zorn, and William Merritt Chase. Thirty six years ago, she started her formal education in art by attending Cornell University for a short time. There she learned to ,“write and speak beautifully about art”, but found that studio time was limited. She left Cornell and joined an Atelier under the instruction of Anita Fuller. The Atelier’s artistic concentration was in portrait and still life in a classic representational style, always working from life, whether it was with a live model or a still life set up. From this mentorship, Audrey developed strong, observational skills and a proficiency in applying layers of oil paint in order to build form, value, and color.
After her mentorship, Audrey began a self-directed study plan and attended workshops with David Leffel, Daniel Keyes, Richard Schmid, Kathie Odom, and Mark Boedges.

Studying with these American masters has led Audrey to a more impressionistic style of painting which she continues to practice and developed today.

Artistic statement:
“ Beauty can be found in everyday life in many forms. My paintings are about capturing a moment in time that I can share with the world.”
